The Story

From a Long Island ball field to Seaside Park, NJ—by way of every level of the game.

Vincent "Vinny" Marcotrigiano is a former professional soccer player, teacher, coach, and author. He grew up on Long Island, NY, chasing the ball before he knew anything else about the game, and now lives and writes in Seaside Park, NJ.

For more than two decades he's shared his passion and knowledge of the game with kids at every level—recreation, travel, elite club, and D1 college. The book that became The Adventures of Little Marco was born at a magical convergence: his friends were having babies, his childhood dream of going pro had come true, and he'd just finished a deep dive into JK Rowling's Harry Potter series. The result was a way to put everything he'd learned into a kid's hands.

The books are the doorway. The work is the philosophy. Live the Game™ is the movement.

The Path

From player to coach to author.

Chapter 01
The Player

Fell in love with the game at an early age, progressing through youth and collegiate soccer before pursuing a professional playing career. The experience shaped a lifelong belief in the power of sport to build character, connection and purpose.

Chapter 02
The Coach

More than two decades coaching and mentoring players across every level of the game, from recreational and travel programs to elite club soccer and NCAA Division I competition. Experience includes roles with Seton Hall University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and a wide range of youth development programs spanning New York to Georgia.

Chapter 03
The Teacher

Believing the lessons of the game extend far beyond the field, he returned to school to pursue a second degree in Physical and Health Education. Through visits to schools, libraries, and youth programs — including The Idea School and BOCES elementary programs across Long Island — he helps bring conversations around character, creativity, resilience, leadership, and purposeful play into classrooms and communities.
